Important: The real B1 test is a live 15–20 minute conversation with a human examiner at a TfL assessment centre — no app or software, including ours, can grade spoken English the way a trained examiner does. Our tool is built for honest, structured rehearsal: realistic listening dialogues with comprehension questions, genuine exam-style speaking prompts with model answers to study, and a phrase bank to build your confidence — not an automatic pass/fail score.

Why This Test Matters

Since April 2023, every new PHV driver applicant in London must pass the English Language speaking and listening test before SERU, and before a licence can be issued. It's a live conversation, typically 15–20 minutes, conducted via secure video or telephone link with a trained examiner.

The examiner is checking that you can understand everyday spoken English and respond naturally and clearly — exactly the skills needed to understand passengers, give directions, and handle everyday situations on the job.

Because real spoken fluency can only be judged by a human, our tool focuses on genuine rehearsal: realistic dialogues to train your ear, real exam-style prompts to practise speaking aloud, and model answers to learn natural sentence structures from.
