The Topographical Practice Pack follows the real 4-module TfL Topographical test format, so you practise exactly the skills examiners assess — not just general London knowledge.
What Does This Topographical Practice Pack Include?
Route Planning forms the core of the test and accounts for around 75% of the marks. Therefore, you’ll plan routes between real London locations on an interactive map across 35 practice routes split into 3 difficulty tiers. Afterwards, compare your route against a TfL-style suggested route to self-assess — since trained human assessors mark real route planning manually, and no software can perfectly replicate that judgement.
Which Additional Modules Will You Master?
Furthermore, the remaining three modules provide instant auto-graded scoring:
- General Topography (25 questions) – Judge direction between real London landmarks and stations
- Compass Points (15 questions) – Grid-based directional reasoning
- A-Z Index Skills (8 questions) – Understand page numbers and grid references in the official A-Z Master Atlas of Greater London used in the real test

In total, you receive 48 auto-graded multiple-choice questions across these three modules, plus the 35 route-planning exercises — all built to the same 60% pass mark required in the real assessment.
